Introduction to Welding
1.1 Welding is a process of joining two or more pieces of metal together using heat and pressure and a process of joining two or more metal pieces by heating them to their melting points and then allowing them to cool and solidify together.
It is an essential part of many industries, including construction, manufacturing, and repair. There are several different types of welding methods, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. In this educational material, we will cover the most commonly used and well-known welding methods in the world. The curriculum will include both theoretical and practical elements, with a focus on Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
